Egha Kusuma is an experienced steel drum/steel pan player who presents various music styles. These include Caribbean island, Calypso, Soca, Reggae, Latin, Pop, Samba, Bossa nova, and Jazz. As a steel drum soloist, Egha plays a Lead Pan with backing track to provide a full band sound. Therefore, no big stage or space is required for him to perform and entertain you. Egha is also currently the lead pan player and band leader of Desert Pan Steel Band, a professional steel band in Arizona. With the band, he has been performing in many different occasion in Arizona such as corporate party, wedding party, and public concert. Egha and his current band, Desert Pan Steel Band, is available for any kind and any size of event, reception, social gathering, or party. Egha holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Percussion Performance from Arizona State University (ASU), where he also directed the ASU Pan Devils Steel Band. He earned both Bachelor’s (Brigham Young University-Hawaii) and Master’s (Brigham Young University) degrees in Music Performance: Percussion. Egha’s past steel drum experiences include being the lead player of Pan Steelers and Calypso Tide, two top professional steel bands in Utah that performed for various events from wedding party to public concert. In addition, he has been invited regularly to perform with well-known steel drum artists at the annual event of Utah Steel Band Festival. Egha was also an active steel drum player in Hawaii, and had chances to go on tours to play steel drum to different Hawaiian islands: Oahu, Maui, Big Island, and Kauai.
